no, unles you have broken parts, you can rebuild that one if you want stouter parts, or can buy used usually for a couple hundred bucks, a new one will run about 1500 plus.
your truck I take it has the BW1356? if so you can rebuild it your self. they are simple to do. The chain would be the last thing to worry about. The main thing is the oil pump inside these cases are **** to fail.
I'd do as stated above replace with the bullet proof NP205 and be done with it. Theres a few on this site who have 600+HP Big blocks with 44's. if the NP205 will hold up to those, it will to yours with ease.
the few sites i've ran across them on they wasn't cheap. look for a 79 back 4x4's for it. alot of times you can find a F150 4x4 or 78/79 bronco's that need work for little of nothing. then you'll have a solid D44 to swap into your truck to get away from that TTB D44. or take the Tcase and part it out to get some cash back to put into your truck
