rpm too high?????
my rpm is between 1 and 2 while it's in idle, and it stays between 2 and 3 constantly while i'm driving unless i let go of the gas pedal.. my friend says that it's too high and could damage my tranny in the near future if i don't get the timing fixed.. he also says that when the truck is in idle the rpm should be between 500 and 1000rpm, and that after the truck hits about 50-55mph the rpm should drop to about 1000 or 15000, is that true? if so, how can i fix the prob? i have a 2000 auto b3000

Well, yes, your friend is partially right, the idle rpm should be in the 600-900 range. As for the 50mph thing, well, you will have to supply a little more information about you truck, i.e. motor size, rear end ratio.
