BD vs. Banks

I am new on this forum and I have a question about performance upgrades to PSDs. I have a 2002 Excursion 4x4 with PSD w/ BD 60hp chip, aFe ait filter and 4" Magnaflow exhaust. I tow over 10,000 lbs about 5 time, 7,000 lbs. about 6 times (total of 1,500 miles) and about 5,000 miles city/freeway driving. I wanted to do this safe but now I got the bug. I wanted to get big power so I contacted Banks to discuss their Power Pack wich will give me approx. 120 hp and 230 lbs more at the rear wheel for about $4k installed. Any alternatives, comments andrecommendations?

Help!

It depends how easy you want it to be. Banks will take your truck, and give it back to you ready to suck the headlights out of stock rigs. But, for that ease, you pay a price. Many people get the same horsepower gains for a lot less, but they have to do the homework to decide which pieces to put together to give them the results they want. I'm one of those. I've boosted the power at the rear wheels by about 2/3, and have spent nowhere near that much money. It took some time and research, but it can be done.

Banks does offer great products that will increase your trucks hp and torque the downside is they come with a high price.

Just don't know

Thank you for replies. I have decided not to do the Banks upgrade after talking to a local dealer. It will void my warrantee. I will keep looking for a better solution. I am OK for now with BD. Any suggestion would be great.

Thanks again.

Check the Banks website for info on voiding your warranty, or call their "800" number, you might find it interesting.

banks upgrades

Rockcj

That was your first mistake, (talking to a dealership about upgrades). That is what they want you to believe is that it will void your warranty. Cause warranty work costs them money and they will do and lie about anything to lead you to believe you have no warranty anymore. Get you upgrades and be happy. Quadzilla is right though. Save your money man buy what ever products you want but do some research you can find the same products much cheaper than from banks directly.
