Could someone tell why the Snow Plow Package is $70 and the Heavey Service Suspension Package is $125. What is the difference? I assume they are different springs but why such a big difference in price.
Are we talking SuperDuty? Judging by the descriptions on Kelly Blue Book site, www.kbb.com, the Heavy package seems to "add " extra helper springs. KBB also states "may degrade ride quality".
So I think it takes the Snow Plow prep and adds helper springs. The F250/350 brochures says the the package id for trucks with permantly installed aftermarket front end equipment.
The snow plow pkg will give you the "Highest Front GAWR Springs(5200lbs). All others state "Heavy Service Front Springs". The door sticker will state 5200lbs if you get the Snow Plow or camper pkg... The snow plow Pkg availability depends on model..I.E if diesel, only Reg. cab and SC/SB allowed. The Heavy Service Suspension may be the substitute for the 5200lb front spring on all others...not quite sure.
The reason I say this is again all the rest state "heavy service" and I got the stabelizer pkg and the sticker on the truck was 4940lbs not 5200.(something like that....the truck is gone now). I am in the same process and do not want to mess this up again..
Check the door stickers vs pkgs on the trucks on the lot. You want the 5200lb front springs for sure if you get a PSD...sits higher and in my opinion rides better.
I just found a glitch on the KBB site...If I build a F350 SC/SB PSD SRW and add the Off Road Pkg, it makes me choose a 4.10 or 4.30 rear and throws the whole thing off. PSD SRW is only avail with a 3.73. Any one else see this problem?

I'm probably going to order a f350 CC SB PSD tomorrow. I would like the 5200 lbs springs and a steering stabilizer, but I'm not sure what package to order. If I understand it correctly, I can't order the snow plow package with a CC.
I believe you are correct....with the CC/PSD, Ford wont allow it....try building it on Ford's site. This is why the Heavy Service Suspension Pkg. is offered....I think. The source book does show 5200lbs for the HSS Pkg. on the CC with PSD. Again, check the door sticker against the options on the window sticker.....take your time and get it right.
i have the camper package on my truck, which includes the rear helper springs, the front steering stabilizer, and heavy service front springs. i just went to the garage and looked on the door sticker" front gvw 5200 lbs" so if you get the camper package on the cc you should be good.
Could we clarify? I thought this "steering damper" came with the FX4 package only. I only recall the rear sway bar as part of the "camper package". And so the camper package has a greater number of leaves in the pack, is that how it works?

I had never looked into the plow package. So if I want the damper and I'm committed to the camper package I'd have to get the FX4 package. Since the shocks and skid plates are only so so, would the damper be worth the price of of the FX4 package?
No Problem, sinjin......if that's all ya need, by all means yeti's right...buy one off the street.
Even with it all in front of you, it's still pretty confusing. I'm going package hunting tomorrow to figure out what rated springs are on each pkg...I'll post my findings...stand by.
