IT finally happened...a few steps closer to being "THERE" in our eyes. It received a suede paint job last weekend! (Those are rain droplets on it in the pic).
It is still awaiting pic stripes, grill re chromed and the rest of the interior, but it sure looks ALOT different than the last picture I posted! What a difference a year makes. Last year this time, it wasnt even on the road.
Ty changed the Grille AGAIN. I think it will changed whenever the mood strikes, who knows which grille it will wear next. Sorry for the big picture...I havent loaded a program to the new computer that will resize it.
I crave custom grill treatments for the 53 - 56 series as I hate the stock ones.
I absolutely love the Jim Richmond treatment but that 49 Ford has possibilities. The proportions are certainly correct for the size of the opening. Ask yer old man what other grills he's considered plse.
Yes, we will be bringing it to Micke Grove! We have the bumper back on, so I'll get more pics added to the gallery. Especially one that shows the color better.
You are correct! That is the center for a 49 Ford...picked it up for 5 bucks at Turlock. We used an old 51/52 F1 Grill and sliced it in half. Thanks to our buddy Brandon for his handiwork in fabricating that. All we did was tell him what we wanted. (Neither of is is welder material, so we didn't attempt it ourselves!) LOL. As for other grilles we contemplated, we have tossed around DeSoto, Buick, and 50/51 F1. In my gallery, there is a picture of the F1 grille in there. We thought about adding 2 more 'teeth' to it. I'm sure we will come up with more ideas. We cruise the 'Billetprrof" shows etc, and take notes of the grilles and such.
Rumor has it that an F1 will kick the GMC out of the yard! WHoohoo! I've got tons of plans for it, since Ty has all but become one with the panel.
