So Howard got pulled from a few markets - big deal. His claim to fame is that he pushes the limits. How else can you prove you're pushing the limits without occassionally stepping over the line and getting your hand slapped? Kind of like auto racing - if there isn't a few wrecks in a race they aren't going fast enough.

You never know maybe a few advertisers finally listened to his show then heard their add sandwiched between "Girls Gone Wild" commercials and a continuing segment of the "Lord of the **** Rings" game and decided to pull up stakes and find a better place for their dollars. They don't care what he does on his show as long as the advertising money flows in, once that's disrupted the show will disappear faster then a fart in the wind.

 

I think it comes down to a witch hunt. I listen to Stern. As well as others on talk radio in DC. Don & Mike. Ron and Fez. Bill O'rielly. If the content gets to where I don't like it, I roll the dial. Kinda like music. If I hear a song I don't like, I change the station or turn on a cd. Some say he's vulgar and lewd, etc. I laugh my *** off to some off his bits. Some are plain stupid. Just like TV, the movies and other radio programs. In my opinion, rap sucks big. But I didn't write my congressman and the FCC and have them go after our local stations playing rap to have it removed. I didn't try to start a suit. I know alot of folks don't like Stern due to his high sexual content. But I like him because every else sounds the same, or alot like HIM. He has comedians on, some I've seen in concerts. I see it like this, you don't like, change the channel. ALOT of folks say they don't like him when they haven't sat thru his show 5 hours a day while working, every day of the week. They catch one rancid or half-rancid bit and tune out. He is a staunch supporter of the civil services and the armed servies. Period. I think the big picture is this, he's got a big following. He says what he thinks, inflammatory or not. Nothing extrodinary (sp) gets out over the air due to the button. 99 out of 100 times, the callers swear or say something inflammatory, he will cut them off. He actually has some pretty intelectual (sp) political converstaions. He talks like a guy in a locker room so what? Really, so what? There is **** EVERYWHERE, accessible to just about anyone with half a clue. Fine him and everyone else like hell if they cross the line. You know what got him in the latest trouble supposedly? He had Rick Soandso (Paris Hilton's buddy from the sex tape) on. He was discussing the tape and other things about women from previous relationships. Stern was really hung up on how much cash Rick soandso was raking in. Callers were allowed to question Rick. A caller phoned in, asked him had he ever had a tape or sex or something with a N-word. I believe Stern cut him off, and moved right on. But it was bleeped and I lost a several second portion of the show. Point is though, he reacted to it, the folks on the button reacted to it, and then clear channel used it as an excuse. Did they give back all the money they made off Stern because they all of a sudden don't like what is going on? No. It's a witch hunt. He's the most well known witch for his business. Burn him first. Clear channel has been associated with Stern for a couple years I believe. And now, all of a sudden, enforce this, enforce that, due to a 40 year old, sorry as all get out, ugly boob on TV for a second. What about NYPD Blue? They showed butt and stuff previoulsy. Use the A-hole and S-word. Primetime TV. Get fined? NO. Any actors removed or stations stop showing the program? It's an old arguement, Janet Jackson started something. Everybody in entertainment is going to pay. In one way or another. Adults need to grow up. This country is so backwards in so many ways. I don't agree with sex in the streets. But they have started hunting for mundane things aftef JJ's display. Give it a rest and let's focus the government on the big picture. Fix unemployment. We got troops everywhere but home it seems, concentrate on them being kept alive. Fix homelessness. Take care of the Vets. Pay teachers more. Pay cops more. Pay firefighters more. Lower taxes somehow. Social security doing O.K.? I'd like it to be there as an option when I retire in 35 years. Start working on the corruption that is in government in general and try to find some honest people. Pay soldiers alot more. They are protecting us with their lives. Build more schools. My kids all take classes in a trailer. Every year. My youngest daughter has never set foot in her school. It's 4 years old and 40% over pop. The road system is way,way behind growth of housing. In other words, get off the whole big bad man on radio bandwagon, (cause that's what it is, a frigging big Stern-wagon), and fix the real problems with the country. And no I've never considered myself a liberal, but who cares about gay-marriage? Really. They ain't hurting me any. If they love each other, and it's a healthy relationship, let it ride man. Every one is so worried about who is doing this and that and in what bedroom. I think Al-Qaieda is much, more important. Gays haven't flown a plane into a building lately. Maybe they'll start though if everybody keeps messing with them. It's getting sick around here. This country is based on several key things. But religion is getting in the way of alot. Some say we are losing our morals, I say we are losing common sense. Get over it and yourselves, let's live our lifes out, and teach our children the good stuff. Lets start with love. Otherwise ban everything, cause everybody has a problem with something or somebody. Let's go live in a box with our eyes shut, ears closed, mouth covered, and act like unicks (sp). Sorry for the rant, but this is just dumb. And all over a boob. An ugly boob at that. This my opinion, I stand by it, and it has nothing to with FTE. Sorry if I crossed any lines. But bandwagoning is something I cannot stand. Opinions and the ability to express make this one damn good country, and being able to make a choice and a healthy one at that is great too. Now, the government wants to take that away it seems. Gonna regulate cable and satelite TV next. Try and take away smoking, cause it's bad and potrays bad stuff, and it will kill you and watch the coutry turn upside down. Or take away alcohol. Oh wait, they make way too much money there. I think I've starting repeating myself in an already weak arguement here. I'm going to get some pizza and beer, I've started to lose focus of why I was typing away. It's all about choices. And I feel like they are starting to revert and try to take my choices away. And when really it's just a stupid radio show. What's next, remove CSI from network Tv cause it's graphic. COM'ON MAN. My nephew is laid up in a Army hospital somewhere from wounds when his vechile was hit by enemy fire in Iraq. He's a mechanic. Wasn't even fighting when he got hit. And our Government is in an uproar over a boob and edgey radio of all things. BUMMER MAN. WHAT A DAMN BUMMER.

 

I have the attitude that you can always get up and turn it off if you don't like it, exceptions being what Janet jackson did. She was totally wrong and should be punished severly for it as it was aired on regular tv and not in a adult setting. Sterns show is known for it's outrage acts, therefore you know that going in to it. Funny, in the real world you here profanity, see nudity , etc., Yet it is so perverse to see/hear it in your private home or on the radio. Turn it off if you don't like it, punish those that do it in a non adult setting. In your own private home it is a parents repsonsibility to judge what is proper for whom. Censorship is completely the first stage of communism. Watch what we say, eat what we eat, do what we say, work when we say work...........

 

Howard Stern may have been funny or interesting at one time, but he is becoming nothing but perverse and crude, especially on his television show. If you've seen one filtered set of *****, you've seen them all. I guess I don't understand how that qualifies as entertainment.

In the search for something bizarre enough to shock us, there will come a time soon when he goes nuts and becomes as much a freak as Michael Jackson.
