Suspension Questions

I am looking at a used 1999 f250. I am wondering if someone can tell me how to find out what type of suspension is in it. It is all stock and its gvw is 8800. I am adding a snow plow and wondering if the door jamb sticker or its physical apperance would tell me the suspension type.
also....if it dosn't have the snow plow package what can i do it to make it one? new spings from ford? retofit kits ect.
any help with this would be apreciated

Suspension Questions

The front spring code on the door jamb will be the letter "X" if the truck has the factory plow pkg.

Although it's not recommended (by Ford), you can purchase and install the "X" springs. Note that you need to be careful to not exceed any of the weight ratings. The front axle has a 5200 lb limit... the springs may have a higher or lower limit so remember that you are bound by the "weakest" component.

You might want to talk to some of the local snowplow dealers/installers to see what they think.
