96 stroke problem

I have a 96 PSD it is a 5spd, with a superchips programmer. When I come off the accelerator when i'm slowing down, or if I am sitting and idling and give it a touch of fuel, when it comes back down it drops below 1000 rpm's and makes a real bad rattle and it shakes the truck. This only happens for a short while and then it clears up. There is no smoke it just sounds horrible. I recently changed the fuel filter, oil,air filter is good. So that is all up to par. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You

Sounds very much like the problem i just corrected, your DMFW is going out. I bought a luk SMFW and the the problem is gone. Fix it before it goes out all the way and takes the bellhousing with it. And easy way to check it is to pull off the inspection cover and check for rotational play, i belive 5/8" is max. Mine was closer to 1-1/8".

About how much did that set you back. Did you do it yourself?
