Mild ignition upgrade - suggestions?

Application - 1990 F150 302 engine with SD-EFI in a 54 F100.

With the mild upgrades being done to this engine (i.e. headers, mild cam, port & polish) It's been stated (and I believe it) that an full blown MSD6 ignition system would be overkill/excessive.

So, going with the stock ignition, other than a complete rebuild, it there anything I can/should do to improve the spark?

i.e. better coils?

Thanks,

I would say your stock ignition is fine, you won't see any real gains, IMO, given it efi.

Wouldn't change the coil either, all the coil does is provide the spark, an aftermarket would give you a little more energy, but the stock one isn't that bad.

You might consider a msd or another ignition box, as it actually controls the spark duration and frequency. IMO, I would put that money towards something else. Good luck

I saw no improvrement with msd 6a only the blaster2 coil made the difference and the 50ohm/foot ignition wires. If I jad the decision to do it again I'd go with out the ignition box
