edelbrock rpm intake - Vs-Edelbrock Streetmaster 390 Intake Manifold, Style "X", Patent #3744463 . For my 390 bored .030 w 428 crank. I will be driving on weekend's mostly I'll be getting a real great cam shaft to use on this engine. It's goning in a 1965 Ford Custom Cab Short Bed . What intake would be the the best.
Good Question I have heard great things about the RPM I just got a streetMaster and have heard some great things about them but they sau if you want the streetmaster to realy perform then port it...I'll bet most say the RPM I'll let you know how my STreetmaster goes if you can grab one then I would go for it cause you cal always find a RPM
The RPM will out perform it at all RPMs unless you port the streetmaster and then it will be a close call. I think edelbrock dumped production on that manifold for a reason.
The RPM is the popular choice for a multi-purpose truck. It's a nice newer dual plane design that allows for other high flow mods but doesn't sacrifice too much in low end torque.
Wether or not you'll see enough difference to justify the cost, depends on the rest of your engine build.
I plan on building a Bad A_ _ 390 but make streetable & dependable . Now if I Wanted a realy Bad A _ _ motor I have a stock 460 4V w/ 385 Hp. & 500 rear wheel Hp. But I have an Edelbrock Carb & reg.Edelbrock intake & headers on the 352 that's in the truck now . So I am going to make use of what I have . I will use the 460 in the {other} 1965 CC Short Bed I'll Build over next winter. I know that Intake, Carb, & Heads Along w/ a good bottom end is what make's it work ! I was just wandering about the other Intake ? Any more Input is Great !!!
