Hi, I have a 99 ford ranger XLT 4x4 with 80,000 miles, and I was wondering where I could get some beefier torsion bars for it. I have looked all over and I haven't had any luck. I cranked them up an inch and the driver's side screw is bottomed out and the passenger side has 3/8 of an inch of thread left, so I want to get stiffer bars so the screw wouldn't be bottomed out. Also, is it bad that the screw is bottomed out on the one side?
Oops, didn't notice he was a new guy. I wasn't really heckling, I was thinking it would be money better spent on a sas then on "beefier" torsion bars. Never been fond of them as you can tell.
Well, hopefully somebody will chime in with a lead for you. I don't deal with torsion bars so don't have any idea. I just know its a bad idea to crank 'em up...like some guys do to get lift
Why would it be a bad idea to crank up your torsion bars to level up the front with the back? I thought that was the whole idea behind torsion bar adjustments, to raise the front when you add aftermarket parts, such as bumper, winches, snowblower and stuff.

its fine when you crank them to retain the stock ride height due to extra weight, but cranking them all the way up to get lift isnt great...
