anybody ever heard of putting a modular engine in a bronco, i was thinking the lightnings 5.4 or a 4.6 police interceptor from a crown vic, use a 5 or 6 speed from a superduty, and maybe custom make engine mounts, unless there is some out there that will work?
the 5.4 would be my only choice, the 4.6 wouldnt be worth the time or effort for the amount of power it produces. this hasnt been done yet but if you have the time and money anything is possible.
Well, I think the 4.6L would be worth t cause it puts out more than our 351w do. But yea, if I had a choice I would go for a 5.4L
You guys know that ford is putting out a new 5.0L crate motor, it's based off the 4.6 5.4 mod engine and its 302ci. 5.0L with DOHC. best of all, It come with a intake so you can oput a carb ontop. If I have the money, I would drop one into my 82. I'ts supposed too come out very soon.
I have a 71 351w in my mustang. According to the old books, it was rated stock @ 240hp w/2bbl carb. I read that the 98 continental w/4.6 & dual ohc system similar to the cobra mustang is rated @ 265 hp. stock. I hate to admit it, but technology is a great thing. Better gas mileage @ better power. The 351w engine is an easier bolt in replacement for the 302 than the 4.6 motor is. Good luck either way.
