Electric fans

Hi,
A quick question to Bronco fans ( no pun intended )
I put an electric fan on my 82 bronco ( 302 ) from a chevy ( ya ya I know ) celebrity. it was enough to keep up to moderate wheeling but mudding was a problem for it ( the engine driven fan was removed and the truck was driven daily with no requirement to turn on the fan unless idling at McDonald's drive thru) . Anyway I now have a 79 Bronco with a 460 and a massive radiator!. I wan't to install electric fans from a donor vehicle and it looks like I could put about 4 of the aforementioned fans on it. Anyone know of a good fit/type/make for this rad and if so how are they wired, separately, on a thermostatic switch or all together etc....I live to scout wrecking yards and I don't care what brand they are as long as they keep the engine cool and I have the ability to turn them off when in deep water. Thanx,

007,

I also have a '79 with the 460 conversion. I have noticed the best cooling with a factory shroud. I used to use fans but found that i could not get adequate cooling. If you go with fans i would get a fan that can pull a minimum of 3500 cfm. There is a few decent ones in the Feb. SUMMIT cat. page 176.

Good Luck,

BTW- where are you located?

thanks,
the mention of the 3500 cfm fan jogged my memory about a factory lincoln electric that puts out that much. Summit's fan would do the trick as well like you said. I have a body lift on my bronco so the factory shroud and fan don't mix well anymore, if I keep them I'll have to fabricate something else. I'm in the Comox Valley/ Vancouver Island/ B.C./Canada. LOTS of good wheeling mostly trails, rock and gravel, mountains, not much mud, no sand.

There is a place on ebay that sells LT1 burnt-chicken (firebird) dual electric fans for $125. This is what I will be oredering for mine shortly, as it looks pretty simple to mount. here is the link
