I bought a bunch last year when it was about $10/share, but I really wished I bought it when it was down in the sevens. It marched up to somewhere in the seventeens and now it's retreated down to around $13.59. As for your being late, I have not a clue. Ford is heavily saddled with debt and it's hurting them. On the other hand, I don't think that Ford will disband either; there are too many tax $ for the government to let Ford die. As for changes, IMHO, there will be financial improvement once the rebates go away and demand is such that fewer people are buying at or close to invoice. I'd plan on being willing to hold F for three years but also consider selling it quickly on a sharp 20% share price increase that cannot be explained. Also, don't overlook those dividendes that Ford is paying .
On edit:
On the flipside, how tolerant for risk are you? If you bought today at $13.59 per share and if, say in six months, it went back down to $7, would you bail or hang in there provided the reasons for your buying it were still valid and nothing substantially negative had developed? Always remember, if you are loosing sleep over one of your investments then you probably should not own it. And like any investment one makes, you should be able to explain your reasons for owning it in under 1 minute and in words that a 16 year old can understand.

I own some Chrysler stock and was thinking of selling it and getting Ford also. I'd probably never buy a Chrysler product, but I bought the stock years ago when it was dirt cheap.
