My friend has a '99 F250 Crewcab with what looks like a factory wiring trailer/camper harness. Two of the circuits (tail lights and left signal) don't work and I have traced this back to the connector that splits out of the main harness (that the factory adapter harness plugs into). Yet, these circuits function correctly on the tail lights of the vehicle. All fuses seem to be working. Is there a separate circuit for these? Any recommendations on where to look for the culprit?
I have a 2000 F250 SD, and there is a separate fuse for the trailer taillights. It is in the fuse box under the hood, and is a 20 amp mini, if memory serves.
There's 2 fuses and 2 relays that you need to add under the hood for trailer towing. They power up the reverse lights and the charge circuit for the trailer battery. Stop and turn signals should already work.

Your response indicates you know your way around wiring harnesses. Just had a guy whack the stock rear bumper on my 01 F250 CC Platinum edition 4X4, in the process cutting the wiring harness clean at both plugs. Is the best fix to replace the entire harness when I get my aftermarket Ranch Hand bumper installed? If so, is this something the bumper guys can handle or should I have the dealership do it? Thanks in advance for any advice you may have.
That is correct It does come apart above the spare tire but dont yank it there are 2 plugs . I believe one goes through the frame to the drivers taillight. Everything for the 7 pin plug is under the hood the truck should have 2 minifuses red for turn signals a relay for the + and two green maxifuses if my memory serves me
I recently purchased a 2000 f250 4x4 supercab with the trailer towing package. However, it appears that the previous owner has been 4x4'ing and has obviously run over a big rock as the connector has been torn off. Wiring harness ends in a funny looking 11 or 12 pin connector. As I will be putting a camper on the truck and want to connect the camper to the wiring harness, it makes sense to run a new harness from the engine compartment. Is there a connector block under the power distribution box that I can connect to or is there any easier route? Need power for battery in camper and tail/brake and running lights.

I put a 7 way plug inside the bed of my 2000 F350 truck to plug in my
slide-in camper. I bought a Bargman 7 way plug with attached 8feet of RV
wiring from www.rvshop.com . By drilling a hole in the inner bed you can run
the wiring down to the left frame rail, where you can tap into the trucks
harness. I used the 3M inline splices to tap into the harness. You can see
how to wire up a 7 way plug at this web site:
http://www.marksrv.com/wiring.htm . I have a
picture of my install at:
http://communities.msn.com/TheStengerFamily/superduty.msnw . I've heard
that some new trucks have a disconnect near the bumper mounted 7way plug.
Just follow the wire bundle forward until you get to a disconnect. Then if
you can get a "T", you be able to hook up without tapping into the factory
harness.
