Been thinking about getting the Banks Transcommand for my truck. Anybody have one and are you pleased with it? Local wrench says it can extend the life of a transmission "considerably".
I have one in my '96 with the E4OD tranny. I'm happy with it. It allows the tranny to shift like normal under no load situations, but when you put your foot in it or you're hauling a load it firms the shifts proportionately.
I like mine. The truck shifts firm. It feels like having a "shift kit" in an automatic! My trans started spewing fluid all over the place from the inspection cover. So I just ended up replacing it. So, we'll see if I get more than 100k out of this one with the trans command!
As far as "under load" goes, the most I've pulled so far is approx 4000 lbs and it shifted great.
