Ball Joint Problems
WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM ANY EXCURSION OR 250 OWNERS THAT HAVE HAD EARLY BALL JOINT FAILURES...
MINE WENT AT 40,000 MILES & WAS TOLD THEY ARE FAILING AS EARLY AS 17,000 MILES...
SERVICE MANGER INDICATED PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NOW "SEALED UNITS" WITHOUT GREASE FITTINGS...
SOUNDS LIKE A "DESIGN DEFECT" TO ME!

Welcome to the group. Sealed ball joint's have been around for years. The fact that they don't have grease fittings does not make them fail any sooner. I like grease fittings but they have their flaws to. That said they may have a run of bad joints but what your Service Manger said is sounds more opinion than fact. Typing with all caps on is considered yelling.

Thanks...didn't mean to shout...just a habit with me...I've got arthritis in hands & sometimes get lazy!
First Ford Truck I've had in about 15 years...NEVER had problems with ball joints in any of the others...and it stunned me to find out from a number of people that I asked...that this is prevalent...
