I am going to swap my T/T mirrors for the smaller set the dealer wanted $650.00 for mirrors and install got my mirrors from e-bay for $150.00. Any special tools or tips on removing the dool panel to connect the plug for the power???Any help would be great
The door panel is extremely easy to remove. Pull the trim off the bottom of the A pillar - it just pops off. Pry up gently on the front of the switch holder and slide it up and forward. Remove the plugs from the switches. There are two 7mm screws that hold the door panel on. One behind the reflector light at the bottom of the door and one behind the switch panel you just removed. Lift the door panel straight up - it is held in place by down facing clips/hooks.
Remove the 4 screws (1/4in?) that hold the speaker in and you should see the mirror wiring plug.
For the mirror, there are 4 nuts behind the panel you removed on the A pillar. The trick here is to not drop any of them into the door. I just tilted the socket up as it came loose and carefully removed it.
The first door might take you 20 minutes and the 2nd door 10 minutes.
There is a very useful website with pictures that I don't have handy, but maybe someone will post.
