While that looks like a good peice, i must say that by swapping a 2v onto a stock 1v manifold is basically just trying to stuff more air/fuel through the same sized opening on the intake.
If funds are limited i'd swap this on in a heartbeat just to get rid of that carter 1v, as its one of the worst carbs i have ever seen, i'm just biding my time with mine until i stumble across a 4v manifold for cheap, and then that sucker is GONE!
Well my reasoning for wanting to get this cheaper adapter is because I can't get my truck to run right to save my life, I have several ford 2bbl's available to me. PLUS at the end of this year I will be swaping in a 1969 351W 4V out of a Mustang/Torino (300+ HP!!! ).
By all means go for it... Those carters are a bit funky and i've only had very slight luck with mine getting it to stay in a decent level of tune... only decent enough that the truck will run fine after starting... it will not start unless its choked...so i feel ya on the carb thing.
Good luck with the 351 4v, sounds like a sweet motor!
