Bad starter?
I have an '86 Ford F150, FI 5.0 Litre V8. A couple days ago I tried starting it and the only sound I got was a clicking then after a few tries it started. The clicking didn't sound like it was coming from the starter, sounded more like it was coming from the solenoid. So I replaced the solenoid, had my battery tested (That was fine), but now when I crank it I get nothing, not even the clicking that I got before. Any ideas?

Maybe the wires or contacts on the battery terminal, I would check if I was getting voltage to the solenoid when I turn the key. This might help to determine where the problem is, if it isn't the battery and it isn't the starter, it must be something in between right?

I put a battery charger on the battery cables which were attached to the battery at the time and set the charger to start. When I tried to start it all I got was a loud humming noise. Any clue as to what that humming noise is?
