Unhappy Tranny problems. Help Help!

Hello All.
My Truck is a 90. f-150 with a 5 speed mazda tranny.
Recently I noticed that my transmission is making this grinding noise. When I droppped the tranny and removed the shifter cover I was surprised to discover a chewed up gear wheel.
This discovery left me in the dark as to how this problem occured. Am I looking at replacing the tranny and\or could this gear be easily replaced.

my truck did the same thing i had the grinding noise and eventually it messed up my throwout bearing, i asked my local tranny shop about a rebuild but they were pricey. I found a parts truck which had the same tranny wit only 70,000 on it. it was easier and cheaper for my situation.

I wouldn't bother fixing it. I'm waiting for mine to finally die so I can throw a T-18 or ZF in it's place. Just my 2 cents.
