Question about TFI ignition module

86 Bronco II, 2.9
I have a problem with my TFI overheating on warm days, especially in stop and go traffic. This leads to engine stall. Starts OK after cooling off. Engine temp is OK, it's just too warm for the TFI (located on the distributor shaft). I have read several posts concerning this problem. My question is if I replace the TFI will it fix the problem or will the new one heat up and fail too? I read where there was a lawsuit years ago about this, but I don't know how it was resolved or what the "fix" is. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

A new TFI module, properly installed (it's very important to put the dielectric grease on it as per a manuals instructions), will resolve the problem until such time (if any) the new module starts to behave the same way. Some have rigged up a way to remote mount the TFI module on the wheel well or the like.
