As soon as summer gets here, and i can make more money (im still in school) i am GOING to buy a winch. I need something that can pull a ranger out with no problem. What rating would i need (i will have a ****** block to double the power)
My question is, where can i get a good one at a reasonable price. Used would be ok too. $450-$500 is a lot, but ive already had a $150 tow bill. So one or two more and i would have enough for a winch.
Put a class 3 hitch on your truck & make up a winch mount to plug into the hitch. Another one on the front would put an end to all your winching problems!
You could hard wire the truck with plugs for quick connection and never have to leave the winch outside where someone may take a shine to it!
Yeah, thats what i was thining too, but then i have to buy 2 hitch mounts, and thats adding a few hundred more on top of the already expensive winch.
I could put a hook on it, that way i could hook it around my front tow hooks, and around the ball on the back. But then i would have to hold it up until it got some pressure on it, and it would look stupid.
I dont want it permanent on the frony b/c i might have to winch backwards. But if thats the only way.... what can i do?
