What causes ping?

Ive a 351c in a 69 mustang but I pingin can happen with anything. Thanks!!

Fuel filter, ignition timing, carbon in the combustion chambers, overheating. More history would be helpful. Did this start recently? Did it start after something was done to the engine? How long since a tuneup? What have you already done to fix it?

too low of octance would be a problem with older high compression motors plus what was said above.

YEH octain try gas aditive 104 or sumthin
