At Walmart we sell Emachine computers and they are the least returned out of the three brands that we have been selling. We had some Compaq computers before Christmas and had about 7 out of every 10 that we sold come back. Even the HP computers, we get a lot back. I know when they first came out, they were pretty much throwaway computers, but now they can be upgraded much easier than before. We rarely get the Emachines returned to us.

I got a Emachines T2385 July '03 for $100 less than original price. It was a close out on that model.

I havn't had any problems with it. I use it to play music on, surf the net, play low processing games. And I use it like a vcr. The first thing I did when I got it was pull the modem, and stick in a ati video card for tv use and to have 2 moniters hooked up for extra dektop space.

And then to get used to win XP I set it up to look like 98 to get used to it and learn to live with it.

I can't say much for the emachine speakers you get with the pc. Pitch them and get better ones. And the cheap keyboard and mouse, gone. I'm using a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Works great!!! I hate fighting a mouse cord. For batterys I use the high output recargables.

I am typing away on an E-machnie bought in 99 for about $199 and it has everything we needed....not like I had a business at the time that needed to be run off of a PC.

One fried 15" monitor....now it's a 17"er.....looks like we will be taking the CPU in for another fan--seems to be making an irregular humming noise that cuts in and out at will.

Warranty was well worth it--the extended version, that is!

Still, good bang for 2 bills.

"Value priced"

eMachines updated its power supply wattage, also added ball-bearing-based system, so it runs more quietly.

The best they did- Poured $20 million in new customer service.

399 to 499 you get what u pay for...I agree, if ya got the time, build your own.

That said, I went out and bought puter from Fry's (model:FS7470)
w/ XP Media center, puter has a DVI connection that plugs into Sony WEGA 36" flatscreen....excellent for gaming!!!!
