Hey guys- I have a 79 F-150 4X4 that currently has a 3 inch lift under it with the drop pittman arm, c-bushings, and a 3 inch drop trac bar bracket installed. But, when I lifted the rear of the truck, it ended up 1 inch higher than the front. So, I have purchased a set of four inch lift coils for the front of the truck. I have pretty much decided that I won't need to install different c-bushings (four degrees is enough for a four inch lift). The three inch drop pittman arm also should be adequate for steering alignment with the added inch of lift. On the other hand, I am concerned about the trac rod. I can't seem to find a four inch drop bracket for it anywhere. I have calculated that the added inch of lift will shift the axle only 0.20 inch, is that too much to be aligned or to track correctly? If any one knows where I could find one of these brackets, their help would be greatly appretiated-thanks
I would buy an adjustable track bar if I were you. I did the same thing on my 79 Bronco and it made it really nice. Even with the drop bracket the stock arm wouldnt center the axle under the truck evenly but with the adjustable one you can make it perfect. Any offroad shop should be able to get one for. Here is the link for the Superlift version which is what I had. http://www.superlift.com/ford6.htm Hope that helps you out.

I put a 4" on mine with no braket.. is that why the passenger side sticks out more then the driver or is it just my narrower tire.. That Superlift bar is a good idea....
Yep, thats why. The track bar is what keeps youre frontend centered and when you lift it, it naturally pulls the frontend to the drivers (left) side even with the drop bracket. I do recommend using the drop bracket with the adjustable track bar. I noticed a better ride with it due to the fact it puts the track bar closer to parallel with the frontend.

Thanks for the help boys, I think I'd be inclined to experiment and see how it centers and tracks before I dig more into my poor college boy's budget-thanks
How do you go about calculating how far off center the axle is? I am concerned how far off center my axle is with a 3" lift. I tried to eyeball it the other day, and it "looks" like the axle is about an inch and a half closer to the driver's side. The coil springs look like they are shifted one way too. When I crank the wheel hard right, the tires rub a little on the radius arms, but there is plenty of room when I crank it to the left.
It seems like the genius who put the 460 and the lift on the truck took every short cut possible, and I am trying to straighten it out one part at a time.
