ABS light

2000 Ford F150 2wd extended cab with 5.4 ltr engine. and 74k miles.
I was driving down the road and then out of nowhere.. the ABS light came on. Anyone know how to reset this? Brakes are in good shape and plenty of fluid. Even tried to turn the ignition switch 3 times to try to reset. Help would be greatly appreciated. I am new to this ford forum and still learning about ford vehicles.

Another question why has my milage dropped so dramatically? I don't race or drive it hard. I drive mostly highway and stay at or near the speed limit. Dropped from 18+/- to 14 or so per gallon. This is one fine vehicle and would like to understand it thoroughly.

Thanks for your time and advice in advance.

Hi Plug and welcome to the forum

How long have you had the truck for? Mileage does drop quite a bit in winter, especially if you let the truck sit and warm up before you drive it. How old are the spark plugs? Air filter in good shape? Engine temperature get up to normal?
As for your ABS light, it comes on if the ABS module sees something that it doesn't like such as a sensor reading out of range etc. Do you have 4 wheel or just rear wheel ABS?
You can probably get it to turn off by disconnecting a battery terminal for a little while. If it comes back on though you do have a problem that should be looked at. When the light is on your brakes work like normal old non-ABS brakes.
