Tonight i was listening to my stereo in my Bronco... All i really want is.. Loudness with clarity. Can i install just an AMP? and no sub? Sub is just for BASS .. Right? Thanks
No, if you want to run an amp you can run it to regular speakers, all an amp does is add more wattage to your speakers. HIGHLY reccomend replacing speakers if they are stock, if not, get a 4 channel amp and run to the four speakers!
I have a 95 f 150 reg cab....i recently installed a 600 watt mtx amp with 2 12" orion subs, and i took the factory rear speakers out and replaced them with 6by9 sony explodes.....im not really into the bass thumping, hear ya a mile away type thing..all i wanted was to be able to hear my radio with the windows down going down the road..im sure you could acheive the clarity you want by adding a smaller amp and upgrading to some cheaper, but better 6by9's
I'm just courious, how hard was it to put in 6x9s and why? 6x8 is the stock size and when I replaced mine it looked nearly impossible to fit a 6x9 in there without some cutting.
the 6x9's i put in have sounded good in everything i have had them in, so i decided to put them in my truck..i did have to modify the cover that goes over them..using a rotozip i just trimmed the backside of the cover..if you have had the covers off, its the raised area that i trimmed flush..then i had to use diffrent mounting screws
also don't be afraid of the subs. I mean they can give you incredible bass but only if you set you audio settings to do it. If you just power your normal speakers I'd imagine you'll be dissappointed in the clarity because you'll have higher highs and mids but you'll be lacking the fullness of the bass. Not an expert and i like bass but thats how it sounds to me.
yes you can just add an amp to increase the clarity at the higher outputs.DEPENDING on your speakers ability to handle the new higher power. By replacing your speakers may help for most of it. but more power is more power. louder and clearer mostly depends on the speakers ability to hit the high and low notes. if you want a lot "treble" type clarity try tweeters. they are speakers that specialize in higher frequency's. Most new aftermarket speakers have tweeters combined with a larger woofer speaker! it comes down to research before you buy!
