No acceleration at start-up

No acceleration at start-up
Strange problem...need help. 97 F250HD Powerstroke.
About 1 in 20 starts, this happens: Engine starts and idles fine.
When placed in drive or reverse....and the accelerator is depressed, nothing happens!!!.....engine stays at idle!!!!!!!!
Let it idle about 10 minutes and it accelerates normally.
Temperature is around 40'F and dry (Desert).
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes..there is an answer to this problem. My original post is still in this forum, but being new to this, I'm not sure just how to tell you get there!
Try "search" in this forum for ACCELERATOR then brouse through the results until you find it the original post.

To find the original post, which has possible solution for your problem, go to:
SEARCH......and type in Half-fast Powersmoke in the "search by user name"......two posts under my user name should pop-up.
