PO was a smoker. Any suggestions to get rid of the odor. The spray stuff I have tried left a sick, sweet smell that is getting milder. But the smoke odor is still there. Does my truck have a cabin air filter in the air condictioning system?
I just got the truck and have only changed the air filter. I have been reading the posts on shocks and exhausts. Great info.
Try using several sheets of Bounce fabric softener. I've used my truck for range burns and it then smells like smoke. Sticking a few of those sheets in there usually clears it right up.
Thanks for the tip. I found the air intake under the dash, passenger side. I will stuff some sheets near it and run the air and leave the sheets.
Does anyone know if there is a filter that I can change. I know that my Mom's Lincoln LS has a cabin filter. A message came on
(change AC filter) on her dash, and I had to figure out what it meant.
The F-150 didnt come from the factory with a pollen filter but there was a kit available to add it. If you do a search here you should probably be able to find some info on it. If I remember right the filter would be in the area under the glove box and easy to see. If you dont see it there you probably dont have it. I've worked on tons of these trucks and have never seen one.
Have you tried shampooing the carpets, seats and head liner? That usually makes a world of difference.
