the best of the best... 390

How could you say no to all that torque? I just really like this engine. Not to mention where I live, there is nothing better to do than to go out on the backroads and romp around, I want to make shure that I make it back home in my Bronco, running... not towed. Why is there something wrong w/ the the 390?

a 460/429 will bolt in much easier since they use the same tranny bolt pattern as the 351m/400's thats in the 78/79's. just L & L mounts your set. 390 you'll need mounts and new tranny to swap in. but is doable if ya got a parts 4x4 with 390 to rob from.

Is that all?

So, if I decided to put a 460/429 in is the engine and mounts and and engine components the only thing that I would have to change? It is a 4x4, 4spd. Also, would it fit right, or would I have to do some revamping? Thanks

the L&L frame mounts is about it. you'll need a 460 with a flywheel, but the bellhousing and tranny will bolt right up to the 460. you'll have to rub headers or seach for manifoilds that'll bolt in. try a search for 460/429 swap on 78/79 bronco's you'll find endless how to's. broncograveyard.com list the swap kit. but not all is needed if you get the 460 out of the right thing where the search will fill in.
