I have looked through the other power window threads and haven't found anything quite like this (at least on the face of it). I have just bought a 97 F-150 and after a couple of weeks the driver's side window just quit working. Not that it went down then quit, it won't do anything at all. I have read somewhere (can't recall now) that if the driver's window switch makes a clicking noise (which mine does) that that is a useful piece of knowledge. But I don't know why. So I'm checking with you experts.

Check your fuses, just to make sure all is well there! Then Take a good look at the wiring harness that sits between the door and body, Move the rubber boot out of the way and check the wires and make sure none are pinched or cut!
I have seen quite a few trucks with a cut door window wire, ussually happens with alot of opening and shutting of the door.
If you find one broke, just splice it back together!
Just a few Ideas to help!

You could check for power at switch.pull out complete switch assembly . using a test light connected to a good ground, see if when ign switch is on you have one power wire hot at all times. if one hot wire ck for good ground.you will need power source to ck grnd. ground wire is most likely blk.hook test light to power and touch to ground wire at switch.test lite should lite indicating grnd. If you have no power or ground most likely broken wire inside door. If power and ground are present most likely bad motor. there are most of the time only 2wires going to motor. to see if power to motor hook test lite to ground. with ign on put test lite in one wire to motor and push window switch up and down.test lite should lite up if power present. repeat test for other wire to motor. one wire is up one is down. if these test all make test lite light up ,remove door panel to acess window motor.with ign on tap on window motor with hammer while holding switch in down poss. if motor works now motor is bad. hopes this helps.
