Hey guys, still new to the site and it's process but the reading is good.
I'm hearing an occassional thud/thump sound in the front end (99 F250SD, SC, PSD, 4X4, Manual 6spd) sometimes when starting off, but more often when turning (seems more frequent going left). I checked for loose mounts, shocks, spring hangers, etc. The wheels are tight, no slop or play. I don't think it's serious but I am concerned. Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.
I had a thumping noise coming from the front of my truck when turning also, turns out it was just a bad ball joint. Replaced them all never heard the noise again. However my friend who works on my truck said sometimes a loose body mount will make that noise. He said he saw that on a couple of trucks.
I have a thumping coming from the front of my truck too. I checked pretty much everything that I could that might be loose but found nothing. It's still under warranty so I figured I'm gonna let them find and fix the problem. It's going in on Wednesday so I'll let you know what they say...
Thanks Catman and JJ. JJ, what did you do to the sway bar? I replaced the Link Stabilizers last year due to worn-out bushings. Can't seem to find any slop when shaking thing around. Thanks again.
