I have a problem with my truck, It is a 95 Ford F-250 heavy duty with an E4OD trans. Yesterday I got a code 452 which is a malfunctioning VSS. My problem is I cannot find the sensor anywhere . there is a plug for the manual shift lever and for the solenoids. I reinstalled the old one after testing it with a continuity tester and it works when passed by a ground. I put new oil in the rearend and checked all the teeth and they are in good condition. I reset the system by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes but the abs light still stays on and the tranny goes into limp mode after shifting out of first. is there power going into the sensor if there is can I test for voltage to make sure power is going in and out? Any help would be much appreciated Thanks.
Hmmm, my 94 F250 has the speed sensor on the front top of the differential center. It is about the size of a walnut and I think it is the only thing with wires on it coming out of the differential.
