Mileage fixing
Hey, I am about to purchace a 1999 f-250LD with 50000 miles on it. I was wondering if the previous owner could have disconnected the speedometer and messed with the mileage. I know that on my 2001 ranger that the mileage is recorded on the engines computer. I'm just want this truck to be good. It's in great shape. No dents or anything. Is there a way that I can get this checked out? My father is a mechanic, could he hook a computer up to it or no?

Carfax
Run a Carfax on it. It's not 100% but it saved me before. The low milage car I was looking at had been a bad collision and it sat in the body shop a long time. So the mileage wasn't racking up.
