Just recenty My 2000 f-250 ext can started making loud noises in the front when going over bumps. The weird part about this is that my truck has only done this when the temps are very low. It feels almost as if the suspension is freezing, Any ideas? Thanks, Evan
This is a fairly common thing it seems with SD. Mine did it and was cured by replacing the ball joints. Sway bar (if equipped) bushings can also be the culprit, as well as, inproper torque specs on the bar. Some have had spring isolators installed to no avail. (from reports that I've read.)
I bet it's your ball joints. Which side does it most? Mine was the driver's side...
HHmmmm guess the grease ain't up to temp, the seals are smaller when cold, along with everything else. Parts aren't meshin well...heck I don't know... jus' does...
Plus if YOU were the truck, would you want someone climbin' inside ya on a freezing morning and asking you to inflict 60mph freezing winds on yourself. Truck might just me mad at ya for wakin' it up...
