Ive been pondering the idea of putting a Dually Conversion Kit from Arrow Craft on my F150. I haul a fifth wheel cattle trailor and i think this should help with sway and so on and so forth. My question(s) is does anyone know the Pros and Cons of doing a job to this extent. Such as: does this put more strain on the rear axle, do i need to change the suspension in the back? do the fiberglass wheel wells (fenders) hold up and do they look stock or do they look like crap? these are just a few of the questions running through my head. I contacted Arrow Craft and asked them but the of course told me everything i wanted to hear in order to sell there product. Any suggestions and Ideas would be great!
they are a good product, the fender flares will look good if they are color matched to your truck, they last untill you forget they are there and brush them off by getting to close to something else , a rear sway bar is a real good thing , good luck, bob
Sounds like an interesting project, but be careful about the weight rating of your truck. Don't haul too much...that frame will be the next weak point.
I think it would be a huge waste of money to convert an F150 to a dually. Resale would be diffacult and you would need to a lot more than add additional tires to the rear to make it worth while. Even most of the F250's that tow fifth wheels or gooseneck setups are overloaded, so I can't imagine what kind of strain it would put on your F150. My best advice would be to put that money towards a used F250/350.
