I hope I can get some info as I can't get answers nowhere else. 2002 F250 Supercab 5.4 / 3.73rear. What kind of mileage can I get with this combo?Have not decided on manuel or auto trans.yet. Have a 1600 lb. slidein camper that will get used several times a year but most of the time it will be just general use.
My semi-educated guess would be 12/15. (city highway respectively) Of course it would be lower when your hauling that camper.
The Manual will usually post better MPG plus have a lower buy in cost as well as maintenance cost. The 4.10's would be a worthwhile consideration in combination with the manual since you'd be savin' some mpg.
Hello!
I own the combination f250 4x4 sd/sc 5.4 3.73ls snowplow pkg/offrd pkg.
It's a 6 speed also ,love that granny gear/for plowing, just let the it
roll.there isn't anything stopping it
I only have 1100 miles on it as of now,I'm over 13mpg's right now but
thats running around town not highway.sometimes with the plow on also.
This truck will run over 70 and be barely turning over 2,000rpms,I don't remember because I didn't stay there too long (break in and a alot Barney's(cop's) around where I live)So far I love this truck!
Will see though.'')
There are alot of combinations that work good v-10 with different gears,5.4 with 4.10 its all in what your looking to do with the truck,
If mpg's is your biggest concern I don't know what to tell you, your not going to get 20mpg with a truck though.

i have a 2002 extra cab w/ the 5.4, 6 sp, and 4:10 gear combo. i love this truck and the power that i have in it. but i cant seem to break 13 mpg on highway or city. now i didnt buy the truck expecting good gas mileage, but i am a bit disappointed b/c it seems that the v-10 boys are getting better then me. if id have known that would have been the case i would have got a v-10. oh well, its still the best truck i have ever owned.

I wouldn't say the V10 gets better mileage then the V8, it's just not any worse when you consider the extra power. After all I hear about the V8 mileage, I'm glad I went with the V10

I have the 5.4 in my truck with the 4:10. I get about 9 MPG doing stop and go (7 with my landscape trailer) and about 14 highway. Im with you redranger, If i would have known the GPM was so poor on the v-8 I would have definitly gotten the v-10!
