Since it is emmissions return from the exhaust which is after the manafold correct? down by the cadilitic converter?
Then if i put in new exhaust. and just.. Ignore runing the setup to the EGR valve and such, that will just be the same as blocking my EGR valve off correct?
Most EGR feeds off the exhaust manifold back into the intake manifold; if you're replacing just the exhaust pipes, then it won't break the EGR loop. If there's enough room to see around the engine, you can trace the line on your particular motor from the EGR valve.
302 has in internal cross over for EGR. You won't affect it by replacing the exhaust. I would leave EGR functioning anyway, the engine will run lean if exhaust gases are not present, but the EVP tells the computer that the valve is open. You are seeing the secondary air injection system just before the 2nd catalytic converter. If you can't hook it back up, I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you have emissions inspections where you live.
Well if its done on the manafold anyways. it woudln't make a difference.
I'm not haveing EGR problems now. But if the engine is rebuilt. I dont want to have those problems.
Though i doubt i'll go to carb, Cause tahts kinda dumb. Trhottle body injection is better then carb for most things, unless your raceing.
Talyn, i know this has nothing with the egr system, Do you have a pic of your truck, i love the NITE edition and wish i had one, i have a vinyl machine at work and want to make my own nite stickers, is it possible i could get a pic of the sticker???\
The guy i baught the truck from "claims" the truck didn't have decals on it at all. I think the dealership took them off.
He claims also to be original owner.
I can not give you picctures of the nite decals. =\
They are black and purple! and then red white and blue.
I know of only one other nite in my area, and it sits there in a guys yard. Never moves. it dosn't have the "nite" decal, just the stripe.
I'd suggest finding some print you like, and some sparkly dark vinyl that will be hard to see unless the sun hits it, or whatever, you should know what i mean, then do stripes or just "nite" for the back of it.
Be original if your going to make your own. =D
My buddies RT stickers for his dakota rock.
The "Nite" package was a special edition package that was available in 1991 and 1992. The package was for the most part an appearance package, with the most noticeable features being the black paint & trim, and special multicolor stripe. The Nite package (available on the XLT Lariat truck) also included 235/75/15 white-letter tires, alloy wheels, and sport suspension.
In 1991, you could only get a "Nite" truck in a regular cab F150. In 1992, you could get it in any style F150 (styleside, supercab, etc.) in addition to the Bronco. These trucks came with either a 302 (5.0L) or 351 (5.8L) V8, and in either 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
Here is a quote from the 1992 Ford Truck brochure:
"The XLT Lariat 'nite' truck is available in the regular cab or supercab 4x2 or 4x4 with the 302 as standard. Its dressed out in raven black with special bodyside tape stripes and forged aluminum deep-dish wheels...The nite model interior includes a choice of colors-dark charcoal, scarlet red or cyrstal blue, a sliding rear window, "nite" nomenclature on the instrument panel and special "nite' floor mats."
thanks guys i was thinkin of turnin my truck from an xlt lariat to a nite, since im repainting it anyways, all the more i have to do is paint the mirrors, and grille
I had never heard of the Nite edition until you guys started talking about them the past couple days. Then I come home from school today, and what do I see? A Nite edition '91 extended cab 4x4 for sale in Durham, NC. Looked really clean too.

They didn't make an extended cab Nite F-150 in 1991. Probably a good copy.
The Nite edition was super rare, and If you guys find one that is clean better scoop it up. I found those pics guys, thanks. Im going to try to match the sky blue with the purple at work, and will work with sherwin williams, our distributor of paint, to try to get the closest match possible. I will have the vinyl made at work, to the closest match possible, and hopefully when all said and done i will have a NITE...lol
i wil post this in paint and body as well, i know i need to paint the grille, bumpers, and mirrors, any pre-prep steps need to be made, i am a painter i would say scuff bumper and mirrors, self etch prime, prime seal then color?
It was definitely a '91, and PKRWUD you probably know more about them than me. I'll take another look at it when I head back to school this afternoon. If I had a digi cam I'd take a picture of it.
