Should a VIN get asigned to this truck before the $1500 rebate runs out on 4/31/04?
The dealer said he could get me at least that rebate if he has a VIN by then. He's a fairly large dealership, and I asked him if he had any allocation problems. He said he had plenty left to allocate.
Congrats! If the dealer has allocation, then you should you have a VIN in 2-3 weeks. I wouldn't sweat the rebate- you'll have SOMETHING when it comes in. More importantly, you're getting the truck you really WANT, as opposed to settling for something that's on the lot just to get the rebate. The joy of driving the RIGHT truck, one that you'll enjoy for many years, will last far longer than any small financial reward.
