Cab/Bed Swap

Cab/Bed Swap
Well I really want a extended cab short bed instead of my standard cab long bed, does anyone know if you can just swap over from one to the other? or were the frames different?

I did it
I had a 73 standard cab long bed
now its a super cab(77) and a short bed.
the problem is the frame shape. the standard cab frame rises up right after the cab. the super cab frame stays stright under the cab. when you put the cab on it sits nose down like three inches. I had to make a one inch body lift and cut out some ribs off of the bottom of the cab. it still sits like 3/4 of an inch low in the nose. but i am using a 96 fiberglass conversion in the front any ways so it dosent matter. i had to make a new core support mounts any ways. but as far as the bed goes, i dont have a bed. i striped the bed sides from the stock long bed. and cut like 16" out of the front of them and put them back together. its not an easy swap but its do able if you have alot of fabracation skills and time.
