Battery question

Just curious about something. Thought maybe someone out there may be able to enlighten me. What is the difference between a marine or deep cycle battery and a regular battery that you put in a car or truck? I always assumed that the marine batteries were more heavy duty due to the conditions that they had to work under. But if they're so heavy duty how come I never see them in trucks? Would they work in a vehicle?

they would, but since the amps are so high on a marine batt. you would surely cook a starter preaty fast...

They will work fine in a vehicle, provided you have the clearance. Marine Batteries have thicker plates and are designed to be used continiously until juice is gone. Recharge them and your back in business. Auto or crank batteries are designed to provide short bursts or amp draws and then recharged right away. Many heavy duty trucks and equipment use a durable or heavy duty battery. Like always, you get what you are willing to pay for. Hope this helps and good luck.
