I have an 84 Bronco, stock height on 33's. Anyway I am on my way home tonight and I keep watching this guy behind me in my rearview mirror. Evertime we stop he gets right up on me. So I tell my brother this guy in his cavalier is going to hit us. Well the next thing I know I have to slam on my brakes because some idiot pulled out in front of the car ahead of me. And sure enough BAM I look back and see this guys face like he is gonna cry. So I could tell nothing happened to my truck, and as I pull forward I see this huge square hole in his bumper from my hitch. HAHAHA. So I just give him a wave and took off. I get home to look at my truck not a scratrch, you gotta love the Bronco.
I like the feeling of security, I like the bronco because I know when there is a little ricer-boy zipping around all over not paying attention to what he is doing and he hits me, ill be safe!
Well, I won't debate the relative safety of an SUV. Of course you are safer in the truck versus a car...until you roll over or a semi comes along, then it probably makes little difference.
/nickle's worth of free advice on/
But, just be warned that any time there is an accident (I think they are calling them "traffic collisions" or TC now) and you leave without at least exchanging information, that is called "leaving the scene of an accident" and usually carries some pretty hefty fines...even if it wasn't your fault.
A friend of mine found this out the hard way when he was stopped at an intersection one night, some lady ran into him. After they got out, he noticed she was a little drunk, the impact really didn't hurt his cast iron Buick but had torn quite a bit of plastic off her "SUV" He told her not to worry about calling the cops or any minor damage to his car and they both left. The next day she reported that he hit her and left without exchanging information. I think he finally got everything straightened out but it was a huge ordeal with multiple court appearances, lawyers, legal fees, etc.
When it comes to an accident, trust no one and document everything.
Yeah my Bronco was the only vehicle to survive the pileup I was in this past October. I was the only one that drove away, the other two cars left on rollbacks. I just had to get a new bumper, ins. paid for it, ha. It was not my fault. Broncos rule!!!! -wb
