Will T-case work on 2wd?

I've always liked the idea of having a 4wd pickup just because of the extra low-geared 4-lo. But I have a 2wd. So my mind starting turning. How would it be possible to get a low gear without swapping in something like a T-18? This is what I came up with. Getting a transfer case and C6 from a 80-86 4x4, and just swap it in. The only use for the t-case would be when I want to pull something that weighs over 6 tons, or another truck. Would this wacky idea that I came up with work?

yeah, it could be done.you would have to get all the mounting for the t case and probably the rear drive shaft to go with it.

There's no reason why it wouldn't work, only issue would be the about 25-30 mph top speed (but if you're towing something that heavy i don't think you'd want to go any faster ) Something else to consider would be to get a full gear drive transfer case and twin stick it. This would give you a rear high, a rear low, and then you could shift the rear to neutral and use the front output as a two speed (actually 6 after you take the C6's gears into account) PTO drive if you wanted.
