I'd check out the lift kit manufacturer's tire fit charts for your particular truck. Skyjacker's chart says that 33's are the max for thieir 4" lift. Generally a 6" lift is needed to fit 35's on that year F-150.
A lot depends on how you drive. If you go off-road and flex the suspension, 33's are as big as you can go with a 4" lift. For street driving only, you can take a chance with larger tires.
yes the 4 inch would be fine as long as its 4x4, the only prob I had was that the front rubs into the frame when the wheel is fully turned, other than that there were no preblems.
Dont buy the cheepist lift out there.Learn from my mistakes.Skyjacker makes a nice heavy duty drop bracket lift. The 4 and 6 are the same brackets it just uses differant springs. The cheaper lift kits use some of your existing parts for the lift(not designed for lift)could lead to cracking your crossmember if drove hard.Twin I beams are cool if done right.Id go with the class II kit with longer radius arms.6 inch for 35 on 10 rims
I got the 4" superlift kit w/ extended radius arms, drop pitman arm, drop brackets for the axle, shocks, springs, plus the rear add-a-leafs all for $1500. Looking back on it now I wish I just went with the full replacement leafs, but they were about $400 more. Truck rides stiffer than factory, but turns and steers like it did at stock height and when it was aligned the tech said he had no problem getting it set properly. Just don't buy a cheap lift or a good manufacturers cheaper lift kit package.
i found a nice quality kit from black diamond. 6in lift it was about $500 free of shipping, came with ibeam drop brackets, new springs, radius arm drop brackets, and 4inch blocks for the rear. have had it for 1 year and off road frequently. works like a dream. dont forget you need extended brake lines. i have 35in tires only rub in front on large flex with tire turned out. it rubs on the bumper. could be trimmed if needed. good luck with you purchase.
