Question ignition module continuesly going out. need help

I have a '95 F-150, V-8, 5.0. My ignition module has gone out twice in 2 months and I need to find out why it keeps blowing. Also the fuse for my speedometer and dome light blows allot. Sometimes it will blow every other day for a week or two then it won't blow for a few months. I am thinking I am getting a power surge from somewhere in my truck but there aren't any shops around here that know what may be causing it. I have even run self diagnostic on it and still nothing comes up. Other than my wiring harness my entire ignition system is only 6 months old. If there is anyone oout there who may know how to help me or tell me someone who could help please let me know. I would really like to get these problems solved.

Heat? If its mounted on the distributor move it to another location or put a big heat sink on it.

Heat is right. People forget thet the module and the distributor base have to be perfectly clean and free of any nicks burrs or scratches. Then a small amount of heat sink compound is applied b4 mounting the unit. The two faces must meet exactly in order to cool the module.

Also look for a loose charging system or battery cable wire that causes a load dump transient.
