clear lens headlights

I recently saw a F250 EC that had the clear headlight lenses on it. I didnt see it with them on but it looked like HID type bulbs in it also. It also had almost clear parking light lens' on it with strobes?? inside? Any idea where I can find those for my 2000 250 EC.

thanks

Sounds like you might have seen a 2002 model truck. Those are now standard items so you should be able to order them through your local Ford parts department.

I have a 2000 f-250. I love the look of the new 2002 head lights. The new head lights have been on ebay for like $450.00:-staun I think thats a little to rich for my blood!

SLAMMER, Try this. Go to www.EBAY.com and search "super duty diamond," this is a clear corner kit made by www.MRTAILLIGHT.com. It doesn't include the headlight assembly, which appears as a HID in the 2002's, but for just $60 they add a great appearance upgrade.

the 2002's have the clear type lenses..... they are NOT hid lamps!

an hid kit would cost you that $400 or more (actually if i recall correctly, someone said they did it and it was more like $700 to make the conversion).

you can get the ultra bright bulbs for the lamps and they will emit that bluish color if that is what you like..... a set of those blubs runs about 30 - 40 dollars and would be a direct replacement for the current blubs you have now. if you decide to get a higher wattage than stock (45/55).... make sure you get the upgraded wiring harness too (another 20 or 30 dollars).... the stock harness and sockets have been known to melt under the 80/100 watt blubs!

You mentioned 'strobes' in your post...I want to add a strobe kit to mine for plowing snow but haven't yet! If interested in them go to AW Direct for their catalog. They can hook you up.

Try this link http://www.awdirect.com/catalog.cfm

Yes, I did. Nothin' like the age old "headlight adjustment" topic. Imagine plumr's horns on a bicycle!..........SWEET! I'd ride it.

I recently replaced the halogens on my clear lens 2002 SD with the Sylvania "SilverStar" halogens. These are as close as you can get to "gas discharge" xenon types. They are an improvement over the stock bulbs but not as good as Xenon gas discharge type. The color of halogen light is expressed in "Kelvin degrees" that is how "hot" is the beam. Do not get those "blue tinted" bulbs, they do not provide any benefit other than they are a cheap bulb with a blue tint. Interestingly Sylvania has come out with gas discharge retrofit kit called Xenarc for the F-150 and Expedition but not SuperDutys . You cannot retrofit a gas discharge type into the same housing as it requires a different reflector as well as a starter unit and other wiring changes.
At any rate here is the web site for Sylvania bulbs http://www.sylvania.com/auto/silverstar.htm
