My 2003 6.0 was acting up the other day. While going down the interstate 65+mph you would try to accelerate and It had no power. It was also surging (truck surging and you could hear the turbo spooling up and then backing back down repeatedly like one second intervals.) Then I stabbed the throttle to see what it would do and nothing. Revved up to about 3000 and just stayed there. (flat) I let off and eased into it and the power came back but if you punched it it would be flat. The next day I took it back out again, same problem. I just layed on the accel. About 10 seconds and the check engine light came on. Drove it straight to the dealership, 3 turbo performance codes. I love my dealership they actually let you go back and talk to the tech. (I am a operating engineer/diesel tech by trade.) This quality of the dealership keeps me coming back. He said it is most likely the vanes hanging up in the turbo, but he wanted to replace the turbo anyhow along with the pressure valve. How do I know if I am getting the updated turbo? I know I could get the part number off the box. Did ford change from garret to another man? Also, my dealship replaced all 8 injectors, Icp, and performed the oct reflash. This was before I recieved the truck. But anyhow, does anyone know what I can find out about this new turbo?
International did change turbo manufacturers from Garret to another company ( i can find out later sorry) Since it is a warrantable failure you will most likely end up w/ another Garrett turbo charger (new one). there is a printed stamp of the model number and serial number on the turbocharger.

And where is the compliment to the dealership.....by giving us the dealership name ??? If they go to the effort to treat you that way, they certainly would not want their efforts kept secret.......
Can you tell us who your dealer is? This way we can maybe visit him and get what we all deserve, good reliable injectors! Your dealer should be praised for doing the right thing to keep his customers happy.
My dealerships name is Mangold Ford Located in Eureka IL www.mangoldford.com they have one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the nation. I have bought 2 psd from them now and have never had and service problems.
Just to let you folks know I picked up my truck yesterday. It runs like a 6.0 should now. It was replaced by another garret. The tech actually showed me the old turbo (vanes etc.) One day turn around and they ran it thru the detail shop for me again. I cant complain.

I realize that I have this on-going issue, but we all should realize to over-come the "chill factor" in being hesitant in naming dealerships, both complimentarily and those through whom we've had less than creditable responses.
