I had to break mine off....but a handheld torch works great for those fittings when they are stuck. It's not hot enough to do damage like a regular torch, but is hot enough to help budge them.

Undo the brake line, use a tubing wrench, the clip is somewhat like a flat hairpin, lift the top half of the clip and slide toward you over the end of the fitting, the bottom side of the clip is open on the side facing away from you. hope this is clear. FSC
