Hello
I have an overheating problem! changed the thermostat and it's in the right way. The one i took out opened in a pot of boiling water. Squeezed the hoses with the cap off and water level went up and down. Full of antifreeze and nothing leaking on a '90 Bronco II. Could i be missing something?
Thanx Yall
More specifically, under what conditions does it overheat?
A few generic thoughts:
fan clutch
clogged radiator, both internal and external.
water pump.
If you give us more specific symptoms, we'll be able to come up with a more specific response.
Also to add to the list that mrshorty provided, a bad torque converter can add enough heat buildup to cause an overheated situation as well. The cooling lines go straight into the radiator giving you more heat buildup.
Yes please give us more info.
tbelle, did you pull the dipstick and check for coolant in the oil,
and look at the top of the stick , see if there's any rusty crud
like stuff there.
suspected a head gasket , maybe?
